Correct disassembly method of hydraulic cylinder

Mar 10, 2022

Hydraulic cylinders are often used for lifting, bending, straightening, extrusion, shearing, riveting, lifting, stretching, disassembly, punching, extrusion of construction steel bars, bridges, construction machinery and other operations. The damage mode of hydraulic cylinder is usually in the form of strain, electric shock, scratch, fatigue wear and so on. The existence of damage will affect the tightness of the hydraulic cylinder, usually manifested as oil leakage. If it is not repaired in time, the working efficiency of the hydraulic cylinder will be affected, and in severe cases, it will not be able to work, and even lead to production accidents. The next thing to introduce is how to properly disassemble the hydraulic cylinder:

(1) In order to prevent slender parts such as piston rods from bending or deforming, they should be balanced with skids when placed. When disassembling the hydraulic cylinder, prevent damage to the top thread of the piston rod, the thread of the oil port, the surface of the piston rod, the inner wall of the cylinder liner, etc.

(2) When disassembling the hydraulic cylinder, it should be carried out in sequence. Due to the different structures and sizes of various hydraulic cylinders, the disassembly sequence is also slightly different. Generally, the oil in the two chambers of the cylinder should be drained, then the cylinder head should be removed, and the piston and piston rod should be removed. When dismantling the cylinder head of the hydraulic cylinder, special tools should be used for the key or snap ring of the internal key type connection, and flat shovels are prohibited; the flange type end cover must be pushed out with screws, and hammering or hard prying is not allowed . When the piston and piston rod are difficult to be pulled out, they cannot be forced out, and the reason should be found out before disassembly.

(3) Before and after disassembling the hydraulic cylinder, try to create conditions to prevent the parts of the hydraulic cylinder from being polluted by surrounding dust and impurities. For example, the disassembly should be done in a clean environment as much as possible; after disassembly, all parts should be covered with plastic cloth, not cotton cloth or other working cloth.

(4) After the hydraulic cylinder is disassembled, it should be carefully checked to determine which parts can continue to be used, which parts can be used after repair, and which parts must be replaced.

(5) All parts must be carefully cleaned before assembling the hydraulic cylinder.

(6) When the hydraulic cylinder is installed on the main engine, a sealing ring must be added between the inlet and outlet joints. (7) After the hydraulic cylinder is assembled as required, it should perform several reciprocating motions under low pressure to remove the inside of the cylinder gas.
